Woman charged with arson, assault in Anchorage mobile home fire

A 24-year-old woman was taken into custody Thursday morning after she threatened three people with a knife and lit a mobile home on fire, police said.

According to a release from the Anchorage Police Department, officials responded to the 5000 block of Fiji Street around 1 a.m. Thursday in response to a mobile home fire and a woman who was reportedly threatening people with a knife.

Police said further investigation revealed Eleanor Guidry had threatened three people inside the home with a knife. The three exited the home, but a fourth person remained inside, and Guidry then lit it on fire, police said.

The fourth person was able to make it out safely, according to police. The home was a total loss.

Guidry was arrested near the scene and taken to the Anchorage Correctional Complex, where she was being held on $120,000 bail. She is being charged with three counts of third-degree assault, first-degree arson, criminal mischief, and four counts of reckless endangerment.
