UAF hockey player from Anchorage out on bail after indictment

A UAF hockey player from Anchorage who was indicted on two felony charges of sexual assault on Thursday was scheduled to be released from the Fairbanks Correctional Center jail Friday after posting a $20,000 bond.

Nolan Youngmun, 23, is charged with the on-campus sexual assault of a woman early on the morning of Sunday, April 5, at UAF's Cutler Apartments.

Youngmun was arrested, charged and jailed April 14.

The arrest was reported by various media members April 15. Two days after initial reports, UAF police received reports of two other sexual assaults, one from September 2013 and one from April 2014, according to the UAF Police Department's daily case reports.

The new allegations were assigned the same case number as the April 5 assault for which Youngmun was indicted. Youngmun's name is not mentioned in what UAF police called an "update" to the original case.

Youngmun, who played high school hockey for Dimond, wrapped up a four-year career with the Nanooks earlier this year. He is being represented by Anchorage attorney Bill Ingaldson.
