Troopers investigate report of gunfire at Girdwood house party

Alaska State Troopers are investigating a report of shots fired at a house party in the Southcentral Alaska hamlet of Girdwood early Saturday.

According to an online trooper dispatch posted Sunday, troopers were called to a home in the area of Stowe Circle around 3:40 a.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, it was determined a group of uninvited guests arrived at a house party in the area and a "disturbance" followed, troopers wrote.

"In the course of the disturbance the uninvited guests, who were unknown to the hosts or guests at the party, produced firearms and fired them repeatedly in the area," troopers said. The suspects left before troopers arrived.

No one was injured in the incident and no property was damaged, but troopers are attempting to determine the identity of those responsible. Anyone with information is asked to call the Girdwood trooper post at 907-783-0972 or Crime Stoppers at 907-561-STOP.
