Baseball wins for West, South

West 7, Colony 5

Luis Montilla drove in two runs and starting pitcher Sean Duffy allowed two earned runs in four-plus innings Monday, keying West's 7-5 win over Colony in a nonconference baseball game at Mulcahy Stadium.

Montilla's RBI single in the fourth helped West score five runs that inning to secure a 7-4 lead. Montilla finished with two hits and two RBIs.

Dillon Oberly turned a double play at shortstop to anchor the Eagles defense.

South 28, Bartlett 2

Willy Homza and Trevor McGinnis each drove in four runs to help propel South past Bartlett 28-2 in a Cook Inlet Conference baseball blowout Monday at Bartlett.

Homza was 2 for 2 with two doubles to lead South's 18-hit attack. McGinnis and Matt Kley were also 2 for 2.

The Wolverines scored nine runs in the first inning and 17 in the second.
