Anchorage police say moose stabbed to death in city park

Police say they have three suspects in custody after a moose was stabbed to death in Russian Jack Springs Park in East Anchorage on Tuesday evening.

The Anchorage Police Department said in a press release that it got a call around 7:20 p.m. from a bicyclist. The caller said three males were harassing a moose on a bike trail in the park near DeBarr Road and Pine Street and they then started stabbing it.

Police found the three suspects and took them into custody, they said. They said they found the small moose dead at the scene.

Police are investigating and say they will release more details as they become available.
