Dimond's Sedor wins Gatorade soccer honor

Dimond forward and midfielder Jack Sedor has been named the Gatorade Alaska boys soccer player of the year for the second straight season.

Sedor, who delivered eight goals and 18 assists in the opening 10 matches of the season and spearheaded the Lynx's 8-0-2 record, has been an All-Cook Inlet Conference selection in each of his first three seasons in high school. He will play college soccer at Marshall University.

"Sedor is an impact player whenever he's on the field,'' Bartlett coach Matt Froehle said in a news release. "He's got great technical skills and tactical awareness. He finds a lot of different ways to contribute.''

Previous Gatorade winners in Alaska include Sedor's brother, Michael, in 2012.

Jack Sedor carries a 3.6 grade-point average and has volunteered for a food bank, helped with Habitat For Humanity and was a part of his school's Buckle Up America seatbelt campaign.
