East, South post Monday CIC softball wins

East snares south-side shutout

East's undefeated softball team earned a pair of Cook Inlet Conference shutouts Monday over a pair of South Anchorage teams.

In the first of two games at Albrecht Fields, the T-birds got a pair of standout performances from the Page sisters to crush Dimond 19-0. Senior Taria Page hit a pair of home runs and freshman Daisy Page struck out five and didn't surrender a hit.

In a 5-0 win over South, Taria Page hit her third homer of the day and Daisy Page gave up two hits in seven innings. South's Rachel White took the loss despite giving up just three hits in seven innings of work.

South 11, Service 3

South earned an 11-3 CIC softball win over Service on Monday at Albrecht Fields.

The Wolverines got five strikeouts in two innings from starting pitcher Rachel White and pounded out 13 hits, including three each by Danni Desjarlais and Leilani Blair.

McKenzie Smith went 2 for 2 with an inside-the-park home run for South, which also got an RBI double from Taylor Lawson.
