Nikiski woman faces attempted murder charges for shooting at passing vehicle

A Nikiski woman faces attempted murder charges after firing several times at a passing vehicle that she believed was driving recklessly Monday evening, Alaska State Troopers said.

Troopers said that shortly before 8 p.m. Monday, they received a report from a motorist who said he'd been shot at while driving his car near Island Lake Road in Nikiski. When troopers responded to the scene, they found 31-year-old Alice Gray, who "admitted she fired multiple rounds into the victim's vehicle as it passed her on the roadway because she thought he was driving recklessly," they wrote.

Gray, who had been walking along the road at the time, shot at the vehicle with a .45 semi-automatic handgun, trooper spokesperson Megan Peters said. Three bullet holes were found in the vehicle.

Gray was arrested for second-degree attempted murder and taken to Wildwood Pretrial Facility where she was held without bail.

Troopers said the driver, who was also the vehicle's only occupant, was uninjured in the incident. Peters said he wasn't being investigated for reckless driving.
