Hit-and-run collision in South Anchorage injures several people, one critically

Anchorage police late Tuesday were looking for a man who fled on foot from a crash that sent several people to the hospital, according to Anchorage Police Department patrol Sgt. Michael Kerle.

Kerle said the crash was reported around 7:50 p.m. A car is believed to have run a red light at C Street and Dimond Boulevard before it hit a blue SUV.

The driver of the car ran from the scene, leaving behind a passenger who was taken to the hospital with neck pain, Kerle said.

A family of five rode in the SUV. All were taken to the hospital, he said

The father was in critical condition and one child was in serious condition Tuesday night, Kerle said. The mother, who drove the car, and two other children did not have life-threatening injuries, he said.
