Alaska fire officials are monitoring a wildfire that was ignited over the holiday weekend by lightning.
The Alaska Interagency Coordination Center reports the Seventy Mile Fire began Sunday and by Tuesday had burned 1,250 acres, or just under two square miles, near Eagle.
The coordination center says the fire is moving northwest away from Eagle and no structures are immediately threatened.
Twenty people are assigned to the fire and are planning a burnout operation.
The center reports 167 fires so far in Alaska this year and 13 are active.
Just 6,567 acres, or about 10 square miles, have burned.
