At least one person died in a fiery crash in Eagle River on Wednesday, according to the Anchorage Police Department.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash near the intersection of the Old Glenn Highway and Monastery Drive. One vehicle was "totally engulfed in flames," Renee Oistad, police spokeswoman, said in a statement around 8:45 p.m.
One person was taken to a hospital, Oistad said.
Police were investigating the crash Wednesday evening. The area will be closed for a few hours, she said.
