Police locate person of interest in Bethel woman's killing

BETHEL -- Bethel police say there's no evidence the person of interest related to the investigation into a Bethel woman's stabbing death was involved in the crime.

KYUK-AM reports store surveillance footage around the time of 23-year-old Eunice Whitman's death shows the prime suspect near a man that police have identified through tips from the public.

Police located 21-year-old Samson Mann Friday and took his statement. Investigators collected clothes and fibers from him that the state crime lab will test.

Whitman's boyfriend, 24-year-old Justine Paul, is facing a first-degree murder charge related to her death. His preliminary hearing is set for June 5.
