The window for discounted online registration for the June 20 Mayor's Midnight Sun Marathon and Half Marathon, and accompanying races, is slowly closing.
Runners who register prior to the marathon's Expo on June 18-19 at the Alaska Airlines Center can achieve savings of at least $10 over the fee that will be required for last-minute registration at the Expo. For instance, registration for the marathon is currently $90, but climbs to $105 at the Expo.
There are also discounts for military and military families, Alaska residents and UAA students.

Besides the marathon and half-marathon, the 42nd annual event also offers a four-miler, Youth Cup, four-person marathon relay and two half-marathon "buddy'' relays for two- and three-runner teams.
