Troopers investigate shootout, pursuit between Tok drivers

Alaska State Troopers say they are investigating an exchange of gunfire between two drivers on a road in Tok Wednesday night.

At about 11:30 p.m., 38-year-old Benjamin Macmurray sped past another motorist on Red Fox Road, then abruptly stopped and fired shots from a handgun, troopers said.

The motorist, whom troopers didn't identify, fled. Macmurray pursued, stopping only when the motorist was able to return fire with a rifle.

Troopers said that both the unnamed motorist and Macmurray contacted them to report the incident.

Macmurray, who told troopers he was shot in the arm, was treated at the Tok Clinic.

Troopers said they have seized all weapons involved in the incident and impounded both vehicles and an investigation remains underway.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
