Two inmates at Spring Creek Correctional Facility were caught trying to escape Thursday, Alaska State Troopers said.
Few details were immediately available, but in an online dispatch troopers wrote that they were notified shortly before 9 p.m. that two inmates had tried to climb a fence at the prison in Seward, but corrections officers quickly stopped them.
Troopers said an investigation into the incident remains ongoing and charges are being forwarded to the district attorney's office.
