Ketchikan man nets 2 DUIs in one incident

A Ketchikan man was charged with two counts of DUI -- on in a boat and one in a truck after loading the boat into a trailer -- in a single incident Saturday, Alaska State Troopers said.

In an online dispatch, troopers said they received a report of an intoxicated boater loading a boat onto a trailer at the Knudson Cove Marina. Shortly before 9 p.m., troopers stopped a truck matching the description from the report on the North Tongass Highway.

Troopers said they identified 33-year-old Joshua Bacus, the passenger, as the intoxicated boater, and added that he had also driven the truck in the marina parking lot and ramp areas. He was charged with two counts of DUI. Bacus had two previous DUI convictions in the last 10 years.

Gabriel Hubble, 35, also of Ketchikan, was behind the wheel at the time of the traffic stop, and was charged with driving with a revoked license and violating the terms of his probation for a felony DUI conviction. He was charged for driving with a revoked license and a probation violation.

Both men were taken to the Ketchikan Correctional Center.
