Troopers: Knife, hatchet, Taser, biting involved in escalating argument in Fairbanks

A 26-year-old Fairbanks woman could face multiple charges after a chaotic attack that involved a knife, a stun gun and a hatchet, and ended with the suspect attempting to set a vehicle on fire, Alaska State Troopers reported.

Troopers wrote in an online dispatch that they were notified Monday of a disturbance inside of a grey GMC Yukon parked outside of a home near Farmers Loop Road.

The woman, who is not named in the statement, became violent after a verbal argument, troopers said. The woman struck the male victim in the face before attempting to "stick" him with a knife, they said. The victim then tried to deploy a stun gun on the woman in self-defense, but troopers wrote that the woman only became more violent and struck him with the blunt end of a hatchet and bit him.

"The suspect locked herself inside a SUV in the driveway, dumped oil inside the vehicle, damaged the steering column and attempted to set the vehicle on fire," troopers wrote. She ultimately fled before officers arrived.

Charges are being forwarded to the Fairbanks District Attorney's Office. The woman could face charges of second-, third- and fourth-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree negligent burning.
