Anchorage police seek additional victims of man arrested on child sex abuse charges

Anchorage police say a 30-year-old man arrested for attempted sexual abuse of a minor may have had other victims.

According to the Anchorage Police Department, Christopher Jerome Mosely drove to an apartment complex in the neighborhood of Mountain View on June 15 and enticed two girls, ages 7 and 9, into a laundry room.

"Mosely had one of the girls lay down in the laundry room before the child's grandmother intervened," police said Thursday.

Mosely proceeded to tell the grandmother that he'd been hired to fix the washing machines, and he needed help from the young girls to move them, police said.

But the grandmother checked with building maintenance while Mosely was at the apartment; she confirmed he made up the story, police said. Mosely left the area in his vehicle, but the grandmother wrote down his license plate and called 911, they said.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree attempted sex abuse of a minor.

Police said Mosely is a registered sex offender. He was arrested in 2011 and convicted for sexual abuse of a minor after he enticed a child to help him move a mattress at a hotel where he worked and then sexually assaulted her.

Detectives believe Mosely may have abused other children. They're asking parents whose children had contact with him and may be a victim to call the police department at 907-786-8900.

Mosely is currently at the Anchorage Jail with bail set at $100,000. His jury trial has been set for September, according to court records.
