A 32-year-old soldier stationed at Fort Wainwright died Wednesday in a Fairbanks motorcycle crash, according to a U.S. Army Alaska statement.
Sgt. Stanley Bernard Daniels Jr. was involved in a collision at the intersection of Gaffney Road and Barnett Street, the Army said. He was taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital shortly after midnight, and pronounced dead at the hospital.
Daniels was a military police officer with the 28th Military Police Company. He joined the Army in Illinois in 2005. He served three combat deployments and spent 26 months in Iraq and Afghanistan, the release said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
