Wasilla teen seriously injured in rollover crash

Alaska State Troopers said that a Wasilla teen suffered life-threatening injuries in a single-vehicle rollover crash on the Parks Highway early Sunday.

Troopers said in an online dispatch that 18-year-old Leeana Backlin was traveling on the highway near Wasilla around 5:30 a.m. when the accident occurred.

Troopers said their investigation indicated that Backlin lost control of the 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee she was driving, causing the vehicle to roll numerous times before coming to a stop.

Emergency responders arrived and initially transported Backlin to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center before she was taken to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage.
