Coast Guard helicopter medevacs sick cruise ship passenger near Kodiak Island

A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crew from Air Station Kodiak hoisted a 83-year-old man from a cruise ship Wednesday. He was suffering from symptoms of a heart attack, the Coast Guard said in a statement.

The man was aboard a Holland America cruise ship near Kodiak Island and required a medevac for "immediate medical attention," the statement said. An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew transferred the man to an emergency medical team on the ground.

Few additional details were immediately available.
