Troopers: Woman charged after attempting to cause head-on collision

A 40-year-old Soldotna woman who attempted to run her vehicle head-on into another vehicle and then began an hourslong standoff with law enforcement is facing multiple charges, troopers said.

Alaska State Troopers said Angela Glaves was driving a Ford Expedition SUV on Wednesday morning when she attempted to steer it into a vehicle occupied by two people and forced them off the road.

When Glaves was contacted by troopers, she locked herself inside of the vehicle. Troopers said they attempted to negotiate with her for "hours" but eventually broke the passenger side window to gain access.

Glaves was charged with two counts of third-degree assault and reckless driving. She was booked at the Wildwood Pretrial Facility.

No further details on the incident were immediately available.
