Anchorage police on Friday served a search warrant on the Alaska Cannabis Club in downtown Anchorage in what an officer described as a "drug investigation."
Club owner Charlo Greene said police arrived around 10:45 a.m. Friday. No club members were inside at the time, she said.
It was the second search warrant issued on the Alaska Cannabis Club; the first was served on March 20.
"It's an ongoing investigation. ... We've been working in coordination with the (District Attorney's) office. So what actually gets charged is up to them," police Sgt. Jack Carlson said at the scene.
A copy of the search warrant provided by Greene, whose legal name is Charlene Egbe, alleges evidence of misconduct involving a controlled substance.
Standing outside the property on Gambell Street, Greene said she was "not at all" surprised but was disappointed.
The warrant alleges probable cause that there was marijuana on the premises and "items related to illegal transactions," including cell phones, advertising materials, computer hard drives and numerous other materials.
Greene confirmed there were marijuana plants inside the duplex residence. Five were flowering, six were immature and six were being used by club members to start their own plants, she said.
The raid comes on the heels of a search warrant executed on Absolutely Chronic Delivery Co. on Thursday.
APD spokesperson Renee Oistad said the search warrants served on the Alaska Cannabis Club and ACDC delivery service were part of "ongoing investigations on illegal drug establishments."
Police are "running an investigation with all the illegal distribution set-ups right now, and this is part of that," Oistad said of Friday's search warrant at the Alaska Cannabis Club.
