'Alaska: The Last Frontier' star injured in fall

One of the stars of Discovery Channel's "Alaska: The Last Frontier" reality TV show was injured in an Aug. 10 fall near Otter Cove in Kachemak Bay, according to the Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers reported in an online dispatch that Atz Lee Kilcher, 38, was airlifted from the scene and taken to a hospital after his injuries proved too painful for him to return in his boat. The nature and extent of Kilcher's injuries have not been made public.

Attempts to contact Kilcher or representatives with Discovery Channel and Wilma TV -- the show's production company -- were unsuccessful Wednesday.

Kilcher, who was charged in July with one count of unlawful methods of taking or attempting to take game by helicopter, was scheduled to appear in Homer court Aug. 11 for arraignment, but filed for and was granted a motion requesting he be permitted to appear telephonically.
