2 teens hurt in crash on Old Glenn Highway near Palmer

Three vehicles were involved in a collision on the Old Glenn Highway that injured two people Tuesday afternoon, including one who was medevacked to an Anchorage hospital.

Alaska State Troopers said in a Tuesday dispatch that the crash took place at about 1:45 p.m. near the Old Glenn's intersection with Bodenburg Loop, which becomes South George Plumley Road east of the highway.

A 1997 Ford pickup, driven by 65-year-old Daniel Dean and carrying one passenger, was headed north on the highway. Troopers said the truck collided with a 1997 Saturn station wagon driven by a 17-year-old boy and carrying a 16-year-old girl.

"The Saturn pulled out in front of the Ford F-250 and was T-boned on the passenger side," troopers wrote. "The Ford F-250 then collided with a 2006 Ford Focus driven by James Hardy, 62, who was stopped on the east side of the Old Glenn Highway at Plumley Road. All three vehicles came to rest on the east side of the Old Glenn."

The 17-year-old was taken to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center with injuries, while a LifeFlight air ambulance flew the 16-year-old to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage for treatment of serious injuries.

Troopers said impairment isn't believed to have been a factor in the crash.
