All UAA home games live on TV, audio of all games free

Some upsides and downsides to broadcasting of UAA hockey this season, the myriad details of which can be found here.

All UAA home games, and all four games of its season-opening Kendall Hockey Classic, will be broadcast live on GCI Cable Channel 1 (and Channel 999 for HD). (Nice, those previously were tape-delayed usually).

And free audio of all UAA games will be available via Stretch Internet.

But for the first time I can remember, games are not scheduled to be broadcast on traditional radio -- UAA in its news release today said it is still searching for a radio partner. (Note to the younger crowd: Radio is that thing with all the buttons on the dash of your vehicle.)

Also, no road games will be broadcast on TV. Most road games were broadcast in recent seasons.

Of course, all Seawolves games are available, for a fee, at Stretch Internet -- check out the link to the news release above for details.

And, remember, this is the first season for former broadcast analyst David Tuttle as play-by-play man for UAA pucks. He takes over for Kurt Haider, who is now the media relations dude and broadcaster of the Alaska Aces after broadcasting UAA hockey since the Stone Age. (And, yes, I can write that because I've been around since Pre-Stone Age. I was around when the first radio broadcaster of Seawolves hockey, Tom Miller, was around. If you remember back that far, hope your affairs are in order because you are so old).
