FBI seeks man suspected in Anchorage bank robbery

The FBI and the Anchorage Police Department are searching for a man they say robbed an Anchorage bank and tried to rob another on Wednesday.
Gregory Cannon, 48, walked into the First National Bank at 1100 Muldoon Road and gave a teller a note that demanded money and said he had a gun, according to an FBI press release. However, he left without any money, the release said.
Then, around 4:15 p.m., he robbed the Northrim Bank at 8730 Old Seward Highway of "an undisclosed amount of money" using the same tactic, the FBI said. No weapon was ever seen.
The FBI's Anchorage office also released several images taken by security cameras at both banks and urges anyone with information on the robbery or the whereabouts of Cannon to call the office at 276-4441 or the Anchorage Police Department at 786-8500.

Another Northrim Bank in Anchorage, the large C Street branch in Midtown, was robbed Saturday. The FBI did not say whether Cannon was connected to that case.
