Several suspects sought in thefts from Wasilla RV storage area

Alaska State Troopers are investigating a series of break-ins at a Wasilla storage facility last week that left significant damage as well as numerous items taken from targeted vehicles.

Troopers said in a Saturday dispatch that the thefts from vehicles parked at A&E Storage, at Mile 47 of the Parks Highway, were first reported on Wednesday afternoon.

"Investigation revealed several unknown subjects forced entry into approximately 10 RVs, trailers and boats within a several-day period prior to the 23rd," troopers wrote. "The incident resulted in extensive damage to vehicles and fencing, including several thousand dollars of theft of miscellaneous outdoor recreational items."

According to A&E's website, the Parks Highway location -- one of two the company operates -- features "electronic security and surveillance" as well as motion-controlled lighting and security-coded access gates.

Anyone with information on the break-ins should call Palmer troopers at 907-745-2131, or contact Mat-Su Crime Stoppers at 907-745-2333 or via its website.
