Flag football: East dumps Dimond, Bartlett tops West

East 20, Dimond 7

Sandin Kidder threw two touchdown passes to Jasmine Richard in the first half Saturday to spark East to a 20-7 Cook Inlet flag football victory over visiting Dimond.

Grace Wiggins added a fourth-quarter touchdown run for the T-birds.

Dimond led early on Victoria Johansen's three-year touchdown run, "but we didn't move the ball well," Dimond coach Kathleen Navarre said.

Octavia Hines of East delivered an interception and made a team-high seven pulls. Sierra Rosenzweig added an interception and six pulls, Kendra Luiten had five pulls and Abby Johnson contributed four.

Dimond got seven pulls from Tiffany Jackson and six from D'Shaunna Schuster.

Bartlett 32, West 27

Damaiya Ward's running and passing accounted for four of Bartlett's five touchdowns Saturday, when the Golden Bears racked up their fifth straight victory with a 32-27 CIC flag football win over visiting West.

Ward furnished touchdown runs of 35 yards and 25 yards, connected with Tiffany Michaels on a 10-yard strike and with Tala Lauvale on a 35-yard score.

Lauvale also threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to Madeleine Sereyko, and Bartlett senior Christine Elias scored the first points of her career with a conversion catch.

Both teams piled up yards. Isabella Roberts of West finished with 268 all-purpose yards, a total that included an 80-yard TD pass from Rebecca Syrup and an 80-yard kickoff return. Roberts rushed for 101 yards and Syrup passed for 306.

Anna Sophia ran for touchdowns of 86 and two yards for West.

Maya Baquiran's 13 pulls and Kyana Cornejo's four pulls and two interceptions sparked the Eagles defensively.
