Troopers seek 2 drivers who fled from Mat-Su crashes

Two drivers who left the scenes of recent Mat-Su crashes they were involved in, including one whose SUV wrecked near a gas station, are being sought by Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers reported both wrecks in dispatches Wednesday morning.

In the first collision, which took place early Saturday, a driver crossed the center line near Mile 49 of the Parks Highway. The Wasilla man whose car was struck in the crash, 41-year-old Bob Bryan, was wearing his seat belt and was unhurt in the collision.

"An investigation showed a vehicle traveling northbound had lost control and traveled into the oncoming lane of traffic where it struck a vehicle traveling southbound," troopers wrote. "The driver of the at-fault vehicle fled prior to (troopers') arrival."

Three days later, at about 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, troopers received a report of a single-vehicle crash outside a Shell gas station at 5100 E. Fireweed Ave.

"Investigation revealed a 2010 Ford Explorer had rolled multiple times prior to coming to a stop in the parking lot of the gas station," troopers wrote. "The driver fled the scene prior to (troopers') arrival."

Anyone with information on the identity or whereabouts of the drivers who left the crashes should call Palmer troopers at 907-745-2131.
