Prep riflery: Dimond, Eagle River, Service, West get wins to end regular season

Nine of 12 Lynx shooters fired above 281 to help Dimond beat Chugiak 7-0 Friday in the final Cook Inlet Conference riflery match of the regular season for both teams.

The win clinched an undefeated regular season for the Lynx.

Chugiak's Kaelan Raynes shot the match high of 290, followed by Dimond's Seth Franklin score of 288.

Dimond's Morgan Byrne fired the only perfect score of 100 in the prone position.

Next up for the riflery teams is the CIC tournament Dec. 4 at West.

Logan Hanscom shot the highest score of the match with a 284 and Service's depth proved too much for Bartlett as the Cougars beat the Golden Bears 5-2 in a CIC riflery match at Service.

Service's Allie Livermont and Bartlett's William Wood finished just behind Hanscom with 283s.

Bartlett's Reian Irving shot a perfect 100 from the prone position — the only perfect score of the meet — to finish with a 274.

West finished the season in second place in the CIC.

Eagle River's riflery team claimed a 5-2 CIC win over South on Friday, but things were much closer than the score indicated.

Eagle River won the A team match by one point, 1,115 to 1,114. Both B teams fired scores of 1,092, requiring a tiebreaker that went to South.

Individual results were close too. Eagle River's Clarissa Deleon's 282 took match-high scoring honors by one point over South's Jean Larson-Rein. Eagle River's Haylee Nicholson and South's Anna Martens were knotted at 279 for the third-best scores, and five shooters posted 277s.
