Prep hockey: Eagle River, Dimond roll to victories

Dimond 13, Bartlett 2

Blaine Orton racked up four goals and two assists Saturday in Dimond's 13-2 win over Bartlett in a Cook Inlet Conference hockey game at Ben Boeke Arena.

Three of his goals were scored consecutively, two at the end of the first period and one at the start of the second.

Tanner Rath contributed three goals and three assists for the Lynx, who led 3-0 after one period and 11-1 after two.

Lillian Lewis recorded 16 saves for Dimond, which fired 38 shots at a pair of Bartlett goalies.

Eagle River 15, Kenai 1

Four players scored twice and seven others scored once Saturday to power Eagle River's 15-1 nonconference hockey win over Kenai at the McDonald Center.

Sutton McDonald, Joshua Linn, Michael Maddox and Bret Jedlicki each scored two goals apiece for the Wolves.

Jeramiah Clark stopped 18 of the 19 shots he faced in goal for Eagle River. Kenai spoiled the shutout bid with Stefan Gulosa's goal with seven seconds left in the game.
