One of the two men shot at a West Anchorage residence Monday evening has died, according to the Anchorage Police Department.

In a statement Tuesday morning, police provided an update on the victims of the double shooting at 5:19 p.m. Monday, at a residence on the 4300 block of Wisconsin Street near Lake Spenard.

"One of them was pronounced deceased at the hospital a few hours after the incident," police wrote. "The other victim remains hospitalized in critical condition."

Police spokeswoman Anita Shell didn't have an immediate update on the case, pending further word from investigators Tuesday afternoon.

"The detectives were working on it all night, so they might be in later today," Shell said.

Police said the men had confronted the shooter at his home. Witnesses told police all three of the men knew one another.
