Black Friday shoplifter pulls gun on Lowe's employees, Anchorage police say

A man attempting to shoplift threatened employees at the Lowe's store in Midtown Anchorage with a pistol in the midst of Black Friday shopping, police said.

The man was trying to make off with DeWalt-brand power tools when employees confronted him, said Sgt. Cameron Hokenson of the Anchorage Police Department.

"He produced a pistol and they let him walk away," Hokenson said. "No one was injured."

Hokenson said it was unclear whether the man succeeded in taking the more than $200 worth of merchandise he had with him.

He said Lowe's has a good picture of the individual from security footage and police are working to identify him.
