UAA's Wiggs GNAC men's hoops Player of Week

UAA junior guard Suki Wiggs, who broke the Great Alaska Shootout tournament scoring record last weekend, this week was named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference's Player of the Week for men's basketball.

The 6-foot-4 transfer from Idaho piled up 98 points in three games to break the record of Purdue's Glenn Robinson, who banked 97 points in three games in 1993.

Wiggs has proved a dynamic scorer – he has opened his Seawolves career with 10 straight games of 20 or more points and averages 24.3 points per game.

In the Shootout, Wiggs also averaged five rebounds, three assists and one steal per game.

The Seawolves (6-4) open GNAC play this week with a pair of games at the Alaska Airlines Center. They entertain Central Washington (4-0) at 8 p.m. Thursday and Northwest Nazarene (3-0) at 2 p.m. Saturday.
