Prep basketball roundup: Results from Friday's games

Dimond girls 75, Soldotna 40

Dimond's defense held Soldotna to 16 points in the second half and the Lynx girls defeated the Stars 75-40 Friday in Soldotna.

Dimond's Whitney Shapp led all scorers with 19 points and freshman Alissa Pili had her first career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Leading the Stars was Lindsey Wong with 11 points.

Anchorage Christian girls 56, Houston 45

Chaunice Carr tallied 20 points and Amir Williams was deadly from the free-throw line, where she went 9 of 11, to boost the ACS girls over Houston 56-45 in a Friday game at ACS.

The Lions trailed 10-6 in the first quarter before the shots started falling. They took a 25-18 lead into halftime and coasted to the final buzzer.

Kaila Wickerson pumped a game-high 27 points for Houston in the loss.

ACS boys 83, Houston 60

A slow start turned into an 83-60 win for ACS over Houston in a Friday boys basketball game at ACS.

The teams ended the first quarter in an 11-11 tie before Mareng Gatkuoth and Trey Huckabay found their groove.

Gatkuoth expanded his four first-quarter points to a game-high 17, and Huckabay, held scoreless in the first quarter, finished with 16.
