Alaska prison inmate could face charges in alleged attack involving bodily fluids

An incident at a Seward prison in which an inmate was allegedly splashed with bodily fluids may result in additional charges for the man Alaska State Troopers say was responsible.

Troopers said in a Monday dispatch that they responded to the Spring Creek Correctional Center on Thursday to take a report on the case involving 30-year-old inmate Anatoly Kojin of Anchor Point.

"AST contacted a male inmate who reported that on (Jan. 20, Kojin) threw a mixed cup of feces, urine and coffee on him and it got in his mouth," troopers wrote. "Kojin declined to speak with AST about the incident."

Kojin's felony criminal record includes a guilty plea to a fourth-degree count of misconduct involving controlled substances in 2012, as well as a no-contest plea to the same charge in a 2007 case.

One misdemeanor charge of first-degree harassment against Kojin was forwarded to the Kenai district attorney's office for review, troopers said.
