Man shows up at Anchorage hospital with gunshot wound, but he and others won't say what happened

A man was shot and injured in East Anchorage early Sunday morning, but police said neither he nor others at a house where the shooting occurred would tell investigators what happened.

The Anchorage Police Department said officers first responded to reports of gunshots in the area of 20th Avenue and Muldoon Road at 2:08 a.m. Soon after, a man walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound, police said.

"Police made contact with the injured male. While officers were able to establish the male was connected to the Muldoon shooting, he was otherwise completely uncooperative," police said in a statement issued Sunday morning.

The victim, who wasn't identified, was then jailed on two unrelated warrants, police said.

Police said the shooting happened at a home in the 2600 block of Havitur Way.

"All parties involved were very uncooperative with police," the police statement said. "Evidence shows there was a gathering of people at the home and some type of disagreement occurred. At least three different weapons were fired multiple times outside of the residence. The home was struck at least once."

A stolen vehicle was found at the home, police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 86-8900 or can anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 561-STOP or anchoragecrimestoppers.com.
