Minor earthquakes shake Kenai Peninsula

Parts of southern Alaska were shaken by a string of minor earthquakes Wednesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A USGS earthquake website listed three 4.0 temblors Wednesday beginning with one 92 miles south of Yakutat at 3:01 a.m. Alaska time, followed by two 47 miles west of Anchor Point at 8:39 a.m. and 8:52 a.m.

The Anchor Point events weren't strong enough to generate a tsunami, according to a Twitter notice from the National Tsunami Warning Center.

There were no immediate reports of damage.
