Tournament season is here, which means there are plenty of high school basketball games in store this week in Anchorage.
The Class 4A Cook Inlet Conference tournament tips off Wednesday at West High, hosted by the defending boys state champion Eagles.
On the girls side, the tournament starts with second-seeded East against seventh-seeded Service at 5 p.m.
Defending conference champion and top-seeded Dimond plays eighth-seeded Eagle River at 6:45 p.m. Dimond also won last season's girls state championship.
On the boys side, defending conference champion and top-seeded East tips off against eighth-seeded Eagle River at 6:45 p.m.
Second-seeded Dimond and seventh-seeded Chugiak play in the late 8:30 p.m. boys game.
The four-day CIC tournaments conclude Saturday with championship games at 5:15 p.m. for girls and 7:30 p.m. for boys.
The top two teams for both the boys and girls advance to state.
On Thursday, two Class 3A tournaments tip off.
The Southcentral Conference tournament begins at 2 p.m. for girls and 3:45 p.m. for boys at Grace Christian.
The Western Conference tournament, which features the defending state champion Barrow boys, begins at 3 p.m. for girls and 4:30 p.m. for boys at Dimond High.
