Police investigating shooting death of man in Eagle River as homicide

Anchorage police said Friday that a man found dead outside an Eagle River home was shot several times, and his death is being investigated as a homicide.

Investigators have not yet identified the dead man, who was found outside by police just after 3:30 a.m. on Centerfield Drive. Police were conducting a welfare check several houses away from where the body was found, police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro wrote in an email.

No arrests or charges have been made, police said.
