Bill Clinton records Alaska robocall; Jane Sanders cancels Dillingham trip

A recorded call from former President Bill Clinton is hitting Alaska phone lines Friday, reminding voters to participate in Saturday's Democratic presidential caucuses in the state.

"I know you don't love these calls, which is why I wish I could be in Alaska to talk to you in person," said Clinton, who said he was representing the campaign of his wife, former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Clinton goes on to tell voters to be in line at caucus locations at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Campaign spokeswoman Gwendolyn Rocco wrote in an email that the call was going out to "thousands" of Alaskans on Friday.

The wife of Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton's chief rival for the Democratic nomination, arrived in Anchorage on Thursday to campaign for her husband.

Jane O'Meara Sanders had planned to travel to Dillingham on Friday to meet with Bristol Bay tribes about the proposed Pebble mine project, but the trip was canceled because of the weather, campaign spokesman Gregory Minchak said in an email Friday morning.

A revised schedule for Jane Sanders was not immediately available.
