Alaska Judicial Council seeks input on state Supreme Court applicants

The Alaska Judicial Council will hold a public hearing Tuesday to gather comments about the applicants vying for a spot on the state Supreme Court.

The hearing begins at 11:45 a.m. at the Supreme Court Courtroom in the Boney Courthouse in downtown Anchorage. People wanting to participate by phone should call 907-279-2526, extension 0.

The council's hearing is part of a 2-day meeting in Anchorage next week, when it will interview and nominate an applicant for the judicial vacancy. Eight Alaska attorneys have applied.

Alaska Supreme Court Justice Dana Fabe will retire from the court effective June 1.
