Prep soccer: Soldotna boys down East

Soldotna 2, East 1

A first half tie turned into a tight 2-1 win for Soldotna over East at the first outdoor boys soccer match in Anchorage this season.

The three goals came within minutes of each other. Dylan Kuntz scored early in the second half for Soldotna off an assist from Timothy Smithwick.

East responded moments later through the middle with a couple of one-two passes between Lucas Wagner and Nelson Centeno leading to a Wagner goal.

Smithwick nailed the go-ahead goal for the Stars off a cross from Andrew Hammond.

"It was a good game," East coach Kash Kinder said. "Out of the four games we've played, that was probably the most fun to watch."
