The Grammy-winning duo Indigo Girls will perform at Salmonfest in Ninilchik on Aug. 5. They join Clinton Fearon and Trampled By Turtles in the list of performers announced by festival organizers on Tuesday.
The annual event will take place Aug. 5-7 in the Kenai Peninsula town on the Sterling Highway. An estimated 5,000 to 6,000 people have attended in recent years, many staying in campsites within walking distance of the vendors and music stage or accessed by shuttle.
Other performers announced on Tuesday include: The Young Dubliners, Jerry Joseph and the Jackmormans, Brothers Comatose, Michael Menert, Dead Winter Carpenters, and Edge of the West. Additional music groups from the Lower 48 and Alaska will be announced later.
Early-bird ticket prices are available at eventbrite.com, with three-day adult passes costing $120 -- $100 each if four sets of passes are bought, $95 for teens or seniors and two-day adult passes for $100. Children 12 and under are free with a paid adult. To get the discounts tickets must be purchased before April 15.
