Boys soccer: Shutouts for Service, Dimond, South

Service 2, Bartlett 0

Service goalkeeper Caleb VanBlankenstein stopped a first-half penalty kick to help the Cougars to a 2-0 blanking of Bartlett in a Cook Inlet Conference boys soccer game Tuesday at Bartlett.

Christoph Schiller's goal in the eighth minute gave Service a 1-0 halftime lead, and Brady Graff's direct kick made it 2-0 in the second half.

Dimond 5, Eagle River 0

Five different Dimond boys scored goals Monday to lift the Lynx to a 5-0 Cook Inlet Conference soccer victory at Eagle River.

Adam Ripley and Riley Stephan scored first-half goals, and Elijah McKenzie-Moses, Steven Aguilar and Azren Fazliu scored after the break.

James Curro contributed two assists, and Ripley and Nathan Dickhaus each added a helper. Niko Lavta-Kiskola and Tanner Dey split goalkeeping duties and the shutout.

South 4, East 0

Britton Clifford's two first-half goals got the South boys rolling Monday in a 4-0 CIC win at East.

Blake Hepler, whose free kick set up one of Clifford's strikes, scored off an Andrew DePaepe assist in the second. DePaepe also assisted on Kevin Sanchez's goal.
