Man wanted by Anchorage police for sexual assault turns himself in

A man sought on sexual assault charges turned himself in to Anchorage police Tuesday evening.

Police announced the end of their search for Elijah Brewster, 23, in a brief statement Wednesday morning.

"Police have made contact with (Brewster) after he turned himself in to authorities last night," police wrote. "We appreciate all of the tips that were submitted on his whereabouts and the help of our citizens in sharing this information."

Two warrants had been issued for Brewster's arrest, on counts of first-degree and second-degree sexual assault. A public notice asking for information on Brewster's whereabouts was released by police Thursday.
