Alaska aviation in the New York Times

The New York Times ran an Alaska flying story yesterday, an enjoyable account of flightseeing accompanied by a thrilling slideshow by a Times photographer.

The story quotes a few Alaska pilots, including Zack Tappan of Homer Air talking about landing next to brown bears, and Glen Alsworth Jr. of Lake Clark Air on the changing landscape.

Many of the facts will be old hat to regular Bush Pilot readers, but it's a good overview of Alaska flightseeing and a solid introduction for those visiting or new to the state.

And don't forget to click on the slide show.
