Alaska beers poised to conquer Texas

Look out Lone Star ... In April, there'll be a new beer sheriff in five Texas cities. Alaskan Brewing Company has announced that it will begin selling its beers in the second largest U.S. state.

Alaskan Brewing will send three beers at first, its Amber, White Ale and IPA, in kegs and cases through Ben E. Smith Beverage Distributors to Austin, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Houston, and San Antonio. Seasonal offerings will also be available.

"Alaskan's line up of award-winning beers has been requested by retailers and consumers in Texas for some time," says Ben E. Keith specialty beverage manager, Kevin Nettleton. "We are thrilled to be able to distribute this unique portfolio of beers across the state."

Texas will be the 14th state outside Alaska to receive shipments of the Juneau brewery's products.
