Alaska's other homeless problem

According to Alaska Dispatch's own Josh Saul, homelessness is on the rise in school districts in Anchorage, Fairbanks and the Mat-Su. In Anchorage alone, the number of homeless schoolchildren rose 38 percent from last year. Officials and social service providers point to one key factor causing the increase: Jobseekers from the Lower 48 and rural-to-urban Alaskans, both affected by the slow economy.
